THE UK IS BEING MISLEAD ON RENEWABLES
It’s time for governments and energy companies to tell the full truth on the net benefits and impacts of wind turbines, pylons and solar farms.
Families, farmers, communities and businesses feel the untrammelled Net Zero “Smash and Grab” requires far greater scrutiny. The renewables industry is backed by £25 billion in subsidies keeping Britain’s energy costs amongst the highest in the world.

THE RENEWABLES ‘GOLD RUSH’ = LESS QUALITY CONTROL
In the rush to ride aboard the renewables gravy train, developers are failing to provide sufficient or accurate data. We continually and meticulously analyse planning applications and find many fail to satisfy the government’s own planning framework. Our recent investigation of a wind farm application in Wales revealed over 150 technical errors and deficiencies. We will hold all responsible to account.
WHO IS DEFENDING BRITISH NATURE AND WILDLIFE?
Your help ensures the facts cannot be ignored
The push for renewables is designed to ‘Save the Planet’, but must we do this at the expense of our own wildlife and ecosystems? We will prove the true cost to our landscapes is being suppressed.
It’s time for a united national response
Your support helps expose the countless policies that do not withstand scrutiny
Help us bring rigorous scrutiny from specialists across all fields such as engineers, ecologists and technical experts who have no agenda but the truth. Together we can form robust legal challenges with a national, coordinated approach. Put simply, the current lack of disclosure on the realities of Net Zero amounts to dishonesty.

We are laying the gauntlet down to Government dishonesty
Sign up to follow each step of the challenge
In the coming weeks we will announce how we will challenge key decision makers and promoters of harmful renewables developments and unworkable energy policy. We demand they face intense technical questioning from subject matter experts as opposed to other politicians. Truth and facts will be pitched against dogma, spin and ideology.

UK GOVERNMENTS ARE UNDETERRED BY COUNTLESS LOCALISED OPPOSITION GROUPS
Local opposition is an essential part of our ‘energy democracy’, but campaigns focussed mainly on criticism of planned energy developments or raising public awareness and objections can have little effect.
Devolved governments have granted themselves unlimited powers to overrule local council or appointed inspector planning refusals, regardless of public objections. The sad truth is local opposition groups are effectively powerless. There needs to be a systemic change.
WHY ARE PUBLIC OFFICIALS NO LONGER HELD TO ACCOUNT?
Those in power forget they are public servants and are subject to the Seven Principles of Public Life (the ‘Nolan Principles’) of honesty, integrity, openness, accountability, selflessness, objectivity and leadership.
These standards apply not only to elected officials, but to those delivering public services, including within the energy sector. We will expose individuals who ignore these principles, and who proffer agenda driven rhetoric that does not stand up to scrutiny.
WE CAN ASSIST YOUR LOCAL CAMPAIGN
We offer local opposition groups simple, efficient, rigorous evidence based tools for mass objections and will ensure evidence from independent specialists, economists and technical experts is not ignored by governments and energy companies.
We ensure objections include lateral calculations of net benefits and evidence from:
- Engineers: warning of the realities of grid instability.
- Ecologists and environmental consultants: raising alarms of damage to wildlife and ecosystems.
- Financial analysts: on the prohibitive costs and long term viability of the current approach.
COMPLAINING IS NOT CAMPAIGNING
Whilst we offer solutions for communities to object en masse, it is not enough to simply expose, communicate and raise awareness of planned energy developments via social media. Letters to the local press have very limited impact. We have been carefully formulating and deploying a range of tactical and strategic measures to ensure communities, businesses and landscapes are not destroyed – planning at a military level.
Your Donation will help Save this Land
Legal support, technical analysis of renewables applications, environmental assessments and public awareness work rely on people who understand the system and are willing to challenge it.
Donations help us:
- Fund judicial reviews and statutory challenges
- Commission independent scientific and technical reports
- Support communities facing aggressive development
- Produce evidence that regulators cannot ignore
- Expose misleading claims and withheld information
- Train and brief volunteers on planning and environmental law
- Publish clear, transparent updates the public can trust
Every pound will help Save This Land
ARE INVESTORS AWARE OF FUTURE HARMS?
Many pension and investment funds are heavily invested in renewable energy, yet so far UK Governments have refused to give sufficient credence to the potential risks of harm to both human health and ecology. We are working with eminent scientists and researchers at leading academic institutions globally to ensure such potential harms cannot be ignored or downplayed.
OUR GREEN AND PLEASANT LAND MATTERS
The surge in renewables planning applications means the industrialization of our countryside and desecration of our hallowed landscapes, meaning threats to the well-being of future generations, tourism, property values and the enjoyment of the beauty and peace of our surroundings, much undervalued by UK Governments.

Who we are
We are a non-political community interest group (CIC) made up of industry and legal professionals, engineers, energy experts, ecologists and business owners, united by one purpose: to expose and legally challenge the damaging policies driving the current rush towards “Net Zero at any cost.”
Save This Land was born out of MotVind UK, originally set-up in alliance with MotVind groups across Scandinavia. The name means ‘Headwind’ or ‘Counterwind’. In Norway, MotVind Norge have been protecting communities by opposing wind farm developments since 2019. MotVind UK has focussed on helping local community groups oppose via planning consultation from scoping to planning hearings.
